Hello and welcome to Meal Prep Weekly!
I became very interested in improving my health and fitness in around 2009 and have been “meal prepping” more or less since then. It started with cooking random food in big batches and eating it throughout the week.. and then I streamlined it a little bit to where I’d cook big batches of a couple things and mix & match throughout the week for lunch and dinner but it was always a little disorganized. More recently, I’ve gotten into the groove of prepping all 5 days of lunch at the beginning of the week and prepping other things to make cooking dinner quicker during the week but there is still room for improvement. I’ve also recently found myself sharing/swapping tips I’ve accumulated through the years and wishing I had documented better. This won’t be a formal “food blog” or a “recipe blog” but for now it’ll just be a place for me to share my meal prep & cooking creations. As a big fan of blogs, I noticed there weren’t many blogs dedicated solely to meal prep and sometimes all I need is a few pictures and quick ideas to get my creative juices flowing.
Here are personal goals I hope to achieve with this site:
I tend to cook a lot of the same things, with a lot of the same ingredients. I’d like to be more creative in the kitchen, while sticking to simple cooking – 90% of the time I only do short ingredient lists and take advantage of as many time saving tricks as possible.
My photography is amateur at best. I don’t see this evolving into a photo-centric blog, but I’d like to improve my eye for photography.
Most of all, I hope to help you realize that YOU can meal prep too to save time, money, and improve your health instead of always relying on eating out and other short cuts to get your nutrition.
